aiight folks, i’m back.  so i’m currently in grad school and also working (part time basically) and i have other responsibilities (including my bowling team) to take care of on top of all that other stuff.  i’ve been busy lately and haven’t updated in a while.  my apologies.  how does all this pertain to ladybug?

i still have to make sure she is taken care of.  not that she would not be taken care of, but she needs her exercise like any 2 year old dog does.  how do you manage to work in exercising your dog into your crazy schedule kyle?  one might ask.  a couple of ways.  i’m home a lot during the day working on school crap or doing paperwork for my job, or putting both of those things off (which is probably the case more often than not).  so me and bug have sessions in the backyard throwing the frisbee or tennis ball.  she’s gettin’ good at catchin’ the frisbee and i get hype every time she grabs it out of the air.  now the problem is the frisbee is kinda torn up, thanks to a friend’s dog named max who will be staying with us next week while his owner goes to portugal, but that will be another post.  the frisbee doesn’t fly as well anymore, so catches are not as frequent.  she’ll still run out and scoop it up and bring it back, problem is she never really wants to drop it.  that’s another fun game (to her).

so that’s one way she gets exercise during the week.  the other is the wonderful invention of doggy day care.  doggy day care might be the greatest creation for dog owners since dog training.  ladybug goes to this boarding/day care placy called holiday barn.  great place with a great staff and we are really happy with the services they provide.

ladybug LOVES going to the holiday barn.  on mornings when she thinks she should be going she will sit next to the bed and stare at me waiting for me to get up.  every morning when i get up and put on clothes she gets hype thinking we are going, whether it’s holiday barn day or not.  we take her twice a week, it costs a little more than i wish it did, but it’s worth it i guess.

so as we get closer to the holiday barn bug starts gettin’ excited.  she can’t wait to get out of the car and go join her friends for playtime.  the staff loves her, of course (i mean, she’s great.  who doesn’t love her?) and she apparently gets along with the other dogs beautifully.  we try and plan daycare (well, they call it camp) days on days where we know we will be gone from the house all day or when we know we have plans in the evening.  she comes home pooped.  doesn’t do much but lay in her bed and sleep, leaving us to do whatever we please in peace.

tomorrow is holiday barn day, she hasn’t been since tuesday and i’m sure she is looking forward to it.  and it works out for us too because there is a free reggae show downtown tomorrow evening.  ever heard of the itals?  they’re good, looking forwar to the show.  we plan to enjoy our evening out and leave the dog home to sleep off her long day of romping with her buddies.
