today ladybug and i sat together on this monumental day in our country’s rich history.
barack obama was sworn in as the 44th president of the united states of america and we should all take a moment to reflect on the historical nature of today’s inauguration.
bug wasn’t as interested in the cnn coverage as i was, she mostly brought me her rope and other toys to throw down the hall for her, but i feel like that was her way of celebrating this event.
my wife wasn’t here hangin’ out with us today, she is down in hampton watching our nephews and niece so my brother in law and his wife could go to dc for the festivities. she’s been there since saturday and i think she’s ready to come home now. bug and i made the trip down to hampton this weekend to see her and the kids, as well as my mom. ladybug was good with the kids, but didn’t like sharing her attention with the baby. haha. what a jealous little chick.
i sit here and prepare for bowling and in many ways i’m still overwhelmed with what is going on in our nation’s capital today. i haven’t turned the channel from cnn since earlier this morning. i’m sure when i get home it will be more of the same.
*raises glass* here’s to this historic occasion, it is truly amazing to me that we have a black president. we are living through and witnessing history being made, and that is very exciting.

God bless america.
