yo! welcome to my blog. this is a blog about life with my 2 year old boxer, Ladybug.
my wife, well fiance at the time, and i got our little pup when she was 8 weeks old in june of 2006. she was a tiny little thing and just too damn cute. we got her from a breeder in chesterfield, va and fell in love the first time we saw her. she was only 4 weeks old at the time, i could hold her in one hand.

the puppies were asleep when we arrived to check ‘em out. a few woke up and waddled around doing much of nothing, but not Ladybug. she came up and sat in my lap like, “what’s up man, when we leavin’?” we knew right away she was the puppy for us and immediately left to hit an atm so we could get the deposit money turned in. we were so excited that night to know that in a few short weeks we would be able to bring her home.
just under two months earlier we sadly had put down my ten year old boxer, Blossom aka BB aka B-girl aka Stinkface; may she rest in peace.

that dog was special to me and got me through college and much of my young adult life. she touched a lot of people’s hearts and is truly missed.
but this blog is about me and Bug and my wife and all the crazy things that happen in our lives. she couldn’t have come at a better time.
after a few weeks of visiting the pup at the breeder’s and trying to figure out the perfect name, Ladybug was finally able to come home with us. we went and picked her up early that sunday morning. my wife drove and i held that little girl in my lap all the way home. she never looked back, almost like she knew life was about to be great. my mom came up to visit that day and to see the new baby. it was a really fun day and Ladybug just fit herself right on into our family.
Ladybug and her grandma
alot has happened since that day in june of 2006. my wife and i married in september of 2006 and are looking forward to our 2 year anniversary tomorrow. we bought our first house in may 2007 and had a nice fence put up in our big backyard just for the Bug.
Ladybug celebrated her 2nd birthday on May 13 this year.

she’s still a wild woman, and so full of love. my wife and i get much pleasure having her as part of our family and i’m not sure we would know what to do without her.
so that’s a little about what got us to this day in the life of Ladybug. i plan to update this thing at least once a week so check back often to see what we’re up to. i’m gonna blog about the things that are happening around here and how Ladybug fits into all of that. she is a big part of our lives; schedules have to be juggled to accomodate her needs, and playdates are made to keep her happy as well. but let me go, she’s in the living room fussin’ about something. who knows what it could be.
